Nature Bat's Last - http://guymcpherson.com/2013/01/climate-change-summary-and-update/

Dr. Guy Mcpherson's site Nature Bat's Last tells it like it is.  See for yourself - read the reports - read the scientific evidence - follow the links - look at the graphs and see the heart wrenching truth.  Then watch some of Guy's presentations - here's a man who walked away from it all - he was living as he says "at the pinnacle of Empire". A tenured professor at a cushy college - a nice comfortable home - and he walked away. His family, friends and acquaintances thought he was a few fries short of a happy meal and they shied away. He lost everything. His career, his friends, and some of his family. He got no reward. Except the satisfaction of knowing the truth and telling it to everyone who will hear him.  His calm passion makes you shiver - If you want to know what's up with the climate, go and visit Guy's site.

On a July day in 1990, a confrontation propelled Native issues in Kanehsatake and the village of Oka, Quebec, into the international spotlight. Director Alanis Obomsawin spent 78 nerve-wracking days and nights filming the armed stand-off between the Mohawks, the Quebec police and the Canadian army. This powerful documentary takes you right into the action of an age-old Aboriginal struggle. The result is a portrait of the people behind the barricades.

In 1936, a family of Russian Old Believers journeyed deep into Siberia's vast taiga to escape persecution and protect their way of life. The Lykovs eventually settled in the Sayan Mountains, 160 miles from any other sign of civilization. In 1944, Agafia Lykov was born into this wilderness. Today, she is the last surviving Lykov, remaining steadfast in her seclusion. In this episode of Far Out, the VICE crew travels to Agafia to learn about her taiga lifestyle and the encroaching influence of the outside world.
